Retention Manager
Report to: Retention Director
Location: Shanghai, China
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Retention Manager’s responsibility is to improve client retention within a defined territory or sector.
To develop and deliver client retention and development initiatives which support business objectives. Review client situations and develop client-specific retention plans which retain and/or grow business through commercial and financially focussed tender and bid processes.
The Retention Manager will work proactively with sector leaders to ensure “One Compass” initiatives and processes are used for the benefit of China business growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and agree a plan for market development and client retention within assign territory.
• Develop and agree client relationship development and retention programs.
• Identify renegotiation opportunities to extend and / or improve margins.
• Develop and manage client retention plans.
• Oversee successful response to re-tenders.
• Ensure SWOT analysis is commercially viable.
• Plan completion of consumer satisfaction surveys within territory.
• Ensure engagement and involvement of Marketing in bid design.
• Pricing policies in bid design drive sales and maximise profits.
• To ensure all new business propositions have unit overhead allocations that are commercially and operationally viable.
• Efficient completion of tasks through standardization and leveraging of best practice.
• Develop close working relationships with other Functions and departments to implement improvements and efficiencies in new bids.
• Develop and deploy strategy to control and reduce above unit costs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor Degree and major in Hospitality preferred
● At least 5 years experience in contract retention field. Sales / client management experience.
● Good appreciation of operational excellence. Operations experience is a plus.
● Highly literate and numerate.
● IT and computer literate (competent in all Microsoft packages).
● Proven attention to detail and dedication to ensure actions are followed-up and completed.
● Ability to effectively plan and organize own work.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills at senior management / executive level.
● Proposing and gaining agreement for tender submissions that cover the needs and expectations of all internal and external stakeholders.
● Good knowledge of food service industry.
● Manage clients by CRM.
● Good English skills in written and spoken.
● Private and public sector experience. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
