The Light & Salt restaurant group in Shanghai has recently launched our fourth restaurant The Pine at Ruijin. We are searching for a Restaurant Manager to join the incredibly talented team at the fine dining restaurant.


Founded by our Chinese Australian owner in 2010, the Light & Salt Restaurant Group have delivered a collection of modern, unique and renowned restaurants in China’s biggest city, Shanghai. Our newest addition, The Pine, is situated in the finely manicured garden of the historic Ruijin Hotel. With its elegant décor, tranquil ambience, and culinary delights created by former R&D chef of Singapore’s Odette Johnston Teo, The Pine is one of the most expected new restaurants this year.

In this role, you will lead the Front of House team to ensure delivery of best-in-class service to our guests. You will be passionate about the industry, have proven leadership experiences, and the skills to energize and drive your team.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead the Front of House team and ensure all job responsibilities are being upheld;
·        Ensure all guests receive the highest standard of service required;
·        Liaise with the Back of House team on menu changes and adjust service accordingly;
·        Strategic planning of staff management, including staff recruitment, briefing, training and development;
·        Thorough understanding of the Light & Salt culture;
·        Build a positive, collaborative and enjoyable working environment;
·         Report directly to the General Manager.

Core Career Experience

3 years management  experience;
Working  experience in 2-hat or 2-star restaurants;
Excellent wine knowledge;
Ability to work autonomously and delegate tasks;
Ability to work under pressure;
Exemplary organisational and interpersonal skills;
Impeccable personal presentation;
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word;
Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality an asset.
